Big Daddy Kane Greatest Hits Performance on Instagram Live
In the golden age of hip hop, Big Daddy Kane was responsible for some of the most iconic songs of all time. While most hip-hop heads don’t consider Kane to be the greatest rapper of all time, his rhymes influenced a whole generation.
According to the Rolling Stone, “Aint No Half Steppin,” from his 1988 album Long Live Kane is the 25th Greatest Hip-Hop Song of All-Time.
In 1989, he released the It’s a Big Daddy Thing, where he produced the majority of the album himself. Still, Thing also had contributions from legendary producers Marley Marl, Mister Cee, and Teddy Riley. VH1 ranked “I Get the Job Done,” one of the singles on the album, as the 57th Greatest Hip-Hop Song of All-Time.
Big Daddy Kane also appeared with Wu-Tang Clan affiliate, Shyheim, as well as Jay-Z in 1994’s “Show & Prove.”
During the live show, the American rapper performed some of his greatest hits like “Ain’t No Half Steppin,” “Warm It Up,” “Kane,” and “Smooth Operator.” He put on a fantastic performance, rocking Instagram in a way that only he can do.
Hats off to BDK and all the hip-hop legends who are giving fans extra appreciation by still entertaining us on IG Live during this pandemic.
