Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion dominated the BET Hip Hop Awards, 2021. They shared the award for Best Song of the Year, Best Collaboration (for Atlantic Records Single ‘WAP’) and Best Hip Hop Video.
This is the second time Cardi B has won the Best Hip Hop Video award. She has won an award for the same category in 2019 for ‘Money’. It is also the second time in a row, that she along with Megan Thee Stallion have won the award for Best Collaboration.
Amongst the other winners were Nelly who won the ‘I am Hip Hop’ award. Lil Baby won the Hip Hop Artist of the year, 2021. Tyler, the Creator won the Hip Hop Album of the year for ‘Call Me if You Get Lost’. Yung Bleu, Lil Durk, J. Cole, Little Simz, DJ Scheme, Hit-Boy, Saweetie, Genius and Jay-Z amongst others won awards in various categories.
The 16th annual BET Hip Hop Awards Ceremony was hosted by DC Young Fly, Karlous Miller and Chico Bean. The show was aired live from Atlanta at the Cobb Energy Centre on October 5, 2021. The ceremony was lively and energetic with performances from famous hip hop stars like Young Thug, Paul Wall, Doechii, Lil Jon, Kal Banx, Baby Keem, Bia, Gunna, Nelly and more.
